Warning! Fujifilm Phishing Scam

Fujifilm sent out an E-mail warning of a phishing scam, which must be pretty large to trigger a notice. Always be careful with E-mails and your personal information online. I have copied the email below:

We’ve been made aware of fraudulent emails claiming to offer brand partnerships, compensation, and free products as part of a Fujifilm content creator campaign. This campaign does not exist and is an attempt at phishing.

This outreach did not originate from Fujifilm and has no connection to our organization. Official communications from Fujifilm are sent from email addresses ending in @fujifilm.com. If you receive this email, please do not respond, do not open any links or attachments, and never share unencrypted personal information or payment details.

Fujifilm FF240004 Tri-band Wireless Registered

Fujifilm registered a Tri-band Wireless camera the FF240004. We don’t know more details at this time but the it could be a few cameras

Fujifilm preannounced the Eterna so that is probably the most likely camera, but we haven’t seen an updated Fujifilm X-E camera in quite sometimes so the Fujifilm X-E5 is way overdue. Of course ,it could be some other Fujifilm that we have only seen hints of like the fixed lens GFX or some other new model. We will have to wait and see.

New Profoto B3 and D30 Announced

Profoto is updating its speed lights with the announcement of the D30 at the end of October and the B3 today. There are lots of mono-light options today, but Profoto is the Cadillac of lights.

Profoto Pro-B3: B&H Photo / Amazon / Adorama
Introducing Profoto Pro-B3
Profoto proudly presents the Pro-B3, a groundbreaking 750ws battery flash designed to meet the demands of the world’s best action and extreme sports photographers. With its heavy-duty casing and industrial grade components, it is engineered for photographers who are dedicated to capture professional images in the most remote and challenging locations.

Power and flexibility
The Pro-B3 delivers an impressive 750Ws of pure battery-driven flash power, providing more than enough lighting strength to create any effect, regardless of where your work takes you. But the Pro-B3 doesn’t stop there. It also offers fast recycling times ranging from 0.02 to 2.2 seconds, and an extremely short flash duration down to 1/75,000s for capturing crisp action shots without motion blur. “The unique combination of features that the Pro-B3 brings ensures that you will always get that perfect shot, says Göran Marén, Product Manager.”

Reliability and creative freedom
Profoto’s extensive and portable light shaping system is fully compatible with the Pro-B3, giving photographers limitless creative options. Additionally, the Pro-B3 is equipped with TTL and HSS for seamless integration with your camera.

The Pro-B3 is designed with the professional action and sports photographer in mind. It features a high-capacity Li-Ion battery, ensuring that you never miss a shot. The flash unit also boasts a robust, rubberized housing and high-quality components, like the user interchangeable quartz flash tubes and long-life capacitors. “The Pro-B3 has been designed and built to withstand years and years of professional use, continues Göran Marén, Product Manager.”

Its intuitive user interface and large, high-resolution display make it easy to operate, even in the most challenging conditions. “The whole idea with the Pro-B3 is that it’s only the imagination of the photographer that should set the limits for what you can do creatively, not the gear, concludes Göran Marén, Product Manager.”

Profoto Pro-D30:
B&H Photo / Amazon / Adorama
Introducing D30
In today’s dynamic world of professional photography, photographers encounter a wide range of assignments requiring versatile and reliable equipment. Profoto now introduces the Profoto D30 monolight to rise to this challenge; it adapts to any scenario — whether it’s portraiture in the morning, fashion by lunch, or product photography at night.

The Profoto D30 monolight is a testament to the power of adaptability, seamlessly fitting into the professional photographers’ multifaceted reality and adapting to your needs both in and out of the studio. Its mains-powered operation ensures uninterrupted shooting sessions. It has a fast recycling time, a bi-color LED modeling light, and a flash power of 500 Ws over 11 f-stops. The D30 empowers photographers with precise control over the lighting conditions, even with the largest of modifiers, enhancing the quality of their work.

The D30 has three distinct flash modes to choose between; ECO for color consistency and increased equipment lifetime, Boost for extra power, and Freeze for the shortest flash duration and elimination of motion blur. Flexibility and quality are guaranteed in every shot.

Its sturdy yet lightweight design ensures easy setup and portability. The D30 combines productivity and creativity in one, no matter what challenge that lies ahead.“With Profoto D30, we wanted to reshape professional studio lighting. Could a strobe with this speed, consistency, robustness, and capabilities really be this compact, lightweight, and simple to set up? Yes, it can!” – Göran Marén, Product Owner.

Fujifilm Shopping Rules Changed – Fujifilm Will Run Lotteries

Fujifilm released updated shopping site terms in Japan designed to prevent camera scalping. Fujifilm will run lotteries like they did for the limited edition X100 for high-demand products to ensure that genuine Fujifilm customers get cameras. I tried to win one of the limited edition X100 cameras when Fujifilm last ran a lottery and I wasn’t impressed with their ability to run one so I hope they have learned from their past errors. The translated press release is below:

Notice of changes to the terms of use for the official shopping site for photography-related products
Dear Valued Customer,

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued patronage of Fujifilm products.

Currently, Fujifilm Mall, the official shopping site for photography-related products, is experiencing difficulties for customers who need products to obtain them due to large-scale purchases that appear to be for the purpose of resale. In order to improve this situation, Fujifilm Imaging Systems Co., Ltd. has added Article 8, “Prohibition of purchases for the purpose of resale,” to the Fujifilm Mall terms of use today.

Important points regarding Article 8 of the Fujifilm Mall Terms of Use: “Prohibition of purchases for the purpose of resale”
In order to better provide products to customers who need them, we have newly specified the following actions as prohibited and have stated that if any such actions are confirmed, we may suspend your “FUJIFILM Members” account.

Prohibited acts

  • Accessing and ordering products through programs that automate purchasing
  • Using different names, telephone numbers, or email addresses at the same address to order quantities in excess of the limits set by this service, etc.

In addition, Fujifilm Mall will use a reservation and lottery system to sell products that are expected to be ordered in large numbers, in order to prevent commercial resale. We may directly or in cooperation with major EC malls request that those who are listing Fujifilm products that appear to be resale products on major EC malls remove their listings. We will continue to make efforts to deliver our products to customers who need them.
