Fujifilm Continues To Have Strong Sales At MapCamera For September

Last month, Fujifilm absolutely dominated Map Camera’s Rankings, but this month the newly released Ricoh GR pushed Fujifilm out of the top spot. Fujifilm managed to hold onto 2nd and 3rd spots, and I would guess that the X-M5 overtaking the X-E5, with the X-Half missing from the rankings, is due to supply chain issues rather than anything else.

Map Camera was not clear if the X-E5 had been shipped to them in higher numbers than the X-M5, since the X-M5 sold out and the X-E5 did not, and people have been panic-buying cameras like the X-Half due to the uncertain availability, which seems to be unfounded since the X-Half is in stock everywhere. You can read Map Camera’s perspective below. Fujifilm cameras continue to sell very well this year, and it will be interesting to see how Ricoh GR sales develop since it is a very expensive camera that is primarily purchased for its pocketability and availability over a camera like the Fujifilm X100VI.

Coming in second place is the FUJIFILM X-M5, which has moved up one place from third place last time. Sales have also increased since last time, and it continues to be very popular. However, supplies from the manufacturer remain unstable, and new pre-orders cannot be accepted, so orders are only being accepted for the number of units that arrive. Even so, the units that arrive sell out quickly.

Coming in third place is the FUJIFILM X-E5, which debuted at number one last time. It has slipped to third place, slightly behind the second-placed X-M5.
Immediately after its release, supply was unstable, but supply increased from mid-September, and currently all models except the black body lens kit are “in stock.” Still, it’s surprising that it didn’t come close to the X-M5. There were a huge number of sales at the time of its release last time, so perhaps most of the models were already sold to those who wanted them at that point.
So, what will the future hold? I’m curious to see how it ranks next time.

One thing that’s bothering me is that FUJIFILM, which dominated the top three spots last time, and the X half X-HF1, which came in second, are nowhere to be seen.
By August, supply had stabilized and all colors were “in stock,” so it’s ironic that they’ve suddenly dropped out of the rankings. Perhaps this model was also sold to those who wanted it. Could it be that the lack of stock was boosting its popularity? Such is the surprising drop in popularity. – MAPCAMERA
