Fujifilm X-T5, X-T50, X-M5, and X100VI US Production Moved To Japan To Mitigate US Tariffs

Back in April, I wrote about how the impact of tariffs could not be predicted and how you shouldn’t rush to buy something you can’t afford just to save a few bucks. As I expected, Fujifilm is on top of the issues, moving production of 4 of its most popular cameras from China to Japan for the US market. This might even be a bonus because many in the US still prefer cameras that are made in Japan.

Retailers are currently shifting SKUs to Japanese-made cameras, so if you want one, look for JP in the SKU. For example, the Japanese-made X-T5 at B&H Photo is listed as FUXT5BJP with JP, while other retailers are still catching up to the changes. Adorama has also started to change things over, but their new listings do not have the JP SKU let so they might have a few China-based cameras left to sell or on the way.
