  • Fujifilm’s affordable rectilinear lens gives you XF8-16mm performance for half the price but only at 8mm
  • f/3.5 isn’t much slower than f/2.8
  • Very compact
  • Comes with a nice hood
  • Only weights 215g/0.5lbs
  • Very compact
  • 62mm filter thread on the front
  • Nice focus and aperture ring
  • Weather sealed
  • All metal design
  • No linear focus motor, but it is unneeded
  • You can shoot very close up, but not quite macro performance
  • Flare well controlled
  • Ghosting well controlled
  • Sun stars aren’t very good because they aren’t distinct
  • Well-controlled breathing for video work
  • Very smooth pleasing bokeh when shooting very close up
  • Sharp in the center wide open but not the corners
  • The corners get better by f/8
