Fujifilm XQ2 Prices Are Rising

Fujifilm hasn’t been releasing many compact cameras lately and the price of some of their discontinued models like the Fujifilm XQ2 are starting to rise as a result as various photographers discover the magic of Fujifilm color. The above video speaks very highly of the Fujifilm XQ2, but warns that you should be able to pick one up for around $200 but some will try to sell the discontinued camera for as much as $500. Well since the above video was published prices have continued to rise and have now reached $700 on Amazon.

Fujifilm’s push-up market is probably the right move, but they should also consider returning to the compact camera market with something truly unique. It would be great if Fujifilm made a 1-inch X-trans sensor RX100 style camera with Zeiss ZX1 like features. I think a lot of photographers would enjoy a compact highly connected camera.
