If you have looked into Fujifilm X100 prices lately, you will notice that the prices have skyrocketed over the past few days due to TikTokers douting on the camera’s color science and superior out-of-camera JPEGS. The power of TikTok to sell is pretty impressive, and all of the photography sites combined covering the X100 have never had this kind of impact on its price point, even though it is a very popular camera. Even the original Fujifilm X100 has gone from a few hundred dollars used to around $1,000.
Hopefully, prices return to “normal” soon because people are already hurting financially. You can see the impact best on Amazon, but it is throughout the entire internet, with X100V prices rising to around $3,000, or what a full-frame Sony RX1 costs, which is a similarly great compact camera with good color science and character.
