Grant recipients will also receive the complimentary use of FUJIFILM GFX System gear and Fujifilm technical assistance during the creative project process through August 2022. Total value of all grant awards offered in connection with the Global Grant Program is USD $104,500.

The FUJIFILM 2021 “GFX Challenge” Global Grant Program is designed to nurture and develop the skills of emerging/promising content creators, giving them the opportunity to create content on topics that have significant meaning to them, while gaining experience using FUJIFILM GFX System gear. Proposed projects may be submitted as still photography or in a movie format. At the conclusion of the production period in August 2022, the award recipients’ final content will be showcased on the Fujifilm X website.

“An overarching goal of The FUJIFILM 2021 ‘GFX Challenge’ Global Grant Program is to empower photographers and filmmakers around the world to create new and compelling imaging projects that tell their stories,” said Victor Ha, senior director of marketing and product management for FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Electronic Imaging Division. “Storytelling is an intrinsic part Fujifilm’s DNA, so empowering creators to do what they do best – creating – is especially important to us.”

The Grant program will be open for entry submissions from individuals or groups from November 10, 2021 through January 5, 2022. In the first round, Fujifilm’s regional judging teams will review all submissions against five specified criteria and select a total of 10 proposals from each of five specified geographical regions – The Americas, Europe, Asia, China and Japan/Middle East – for a total of 50 selections. In the second round, selected candidates will be interviewed (either via video-teleconference, or in writing, as determined by the applicable Fujifilm region) by Fujifilm’s judges regarding the specifics of the project they would like to execute. Three finalists from each region, for a total of 15, will be selected to proceed to the final round, during which Fujifilm’s global judging team in Tokyo, Japan will review each finalist’s entry and select the five global award recipients, with the remaining 10 finalists receiving regional grant awards. The production period for the grant awardees ends and the production of all projects must be completed by August 30, 2022.

The Global Grant Award recipients will receive:
-Complimentary use of a GFX System camera body and two GF lenses for the duration of their project

The Regional Grant Award recipients will receive:
