We have finally created a lens that you can enjoy from super-telephoto to wide-angle without the hassle of changing lenses. The 18-300mm F / 3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) is a high-power zoom lens for Sony E-mount and Fujifilm X-mount compatible with APS-C size mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras. World’s first ^* Achieves a zoom ratio of 16.6x and a focal length of 18-300mm (equivalent to 27-450mm in the 35mm format). There are a wide range of scenes that can be used as a high-magnification zoom lens that covers a super-telephoto lens of 300 mm, including landscapes, snapshots, portraits, and photography of animals and sports unique to super-telephoto lenses. In addition, the compact design makes it easy to carry from everyday to travel destinations. The shortest shooting distance is 0.15m at the wide-angle end, and the maximum shooting magnification is 1: 2, so it is possible to capture a single shot that emphasizes the presence of the subject. In addition, it is equipped with a high-speed, high-precision linear motor focus mechanism VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) and Tamron’s original image stabilization mechanism VC (Vibration Compensation). Make every scene more comfortable and at your own will. If you pick up this one, new shooting ideas will spring up one after another.

The greatest feature of this lens is the world’s first 16.6x zoom ratio as an APS-C size mirrorless compatible lens. The focal length covers 18-300mm (equivalent to 27-450mm in 35mm format). You can enjoy a variety of shooting expressions with this one, from super-telephoto shooting that makes use of the attraction effect to wide-angle shooting that can capture a vast landscape. In addition, it has a very compact design, weighs about 620 g, and uses the same φ67 mm filter diameter as most of our mirrorless lens series. You can handle shooting in any situation.

High-speed, high-precision AF of the highest level in its class that does not miss a decisive moment
Tamron’s original linear motor focus mechanism VXD is used for AF drive. Since it has the highest level of speed, accuracy, and responsiveness as a high-magnification zoom lens, you can comfortably focus from the shortest shooting distance to infinity even at a super-telephoto 300mm (equivalent to 450mm in the 35mm format). .. It also has extremely high focus tracking, so you won’t miss the decisive moment when shooting insects, animals, vehicles, etc. As for quietness, the lens group for focusing can be driven directly without going through gears, so the driving noise of the motor is small, making it ideal for still image shooting and movie shooting in a quiet environment.

The Model B061 boasts excellent close-up shooting capabilities that overturn the conventional wisdom of high-power zoom lenses. At the wide-angle end of 18mm, the shortest shooting distance was 0.15m and the maximum shooting magnification was 1: 2. In addition, the working distance is a surprising 5mm ^* , and it is possible to create a wide macro-specific photographic expression that captures the background while approaching the subject as much as possible.

This lens is a high-resolution zoom lens that is particular about depiction performance while being a high-magnification zoom lens. By luxuriously using special glass materials such as 4 LD (Low Dispersion) lenses and 3 composite aspherical lenses, beautiful depiction is achieved from the center of the screen to the periphery. It greatly reduces various aberrations such as chromatic aberration. Furthermore, by applying BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating, ghosts and flares that are likely to occur when shooting against the sun are thoroughly suppressed. We have achieved both high image quality and soft bokeh over the entire zoom range.

This lens is equipped with Tamron’s original image stabilization mechanism VC to suppress blurring that tends to occur in the telephoto range. It demonstrates its power even in handheld shooting in low light such as in a dimly lit room or at night, and effectively reduces the deterioration of image quality. In addition, by utilizing AI (artificial intelligence) technology, it is possible to obtain a correction effect that takes into consideration movie shooting at focal lengths of 70 mm or less.

Adoption of a circular aperture that makes round bokeh beautiful
A 7-blade circular diaphragm is used to prevent the shape of the diaphragm blades from appearing in the round bokeh that appears when shooting a point light source, and to make it as circular as possible. Even if it is squeezed two steps from the open, it maintains a shape close to a circle.

Adopts a simple drip-proof structure
Considering outdoor use, we have adopted a simple drip-proof structure that arranges drip-proof sealing at various parts of the movable part and joint of the lens barrel.

Overwhelming feeling of lacking realized by BBAR-G2 coating
The coating technology that Tamron has been focusing on to suppress the generation of ghosts and flares has finally reached the next-generation level. The BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating used in conventional lenses has evolved into a BBAR-G2 coating that greatly exceeds its performance. This coating suppresses the occurrence of ghosts and flares to the utmost limit, and allows you to depict the details of the subject precisely even in backlit conditions. This new technology realizes an overwhelming sense of lack and clear expression.

Uses antifouling coat
An antifouling coat made of a fluorine compound with excellent water and oil repellency is used on the front surface of the lens. It is easy to wipe off even if it gets wet with water drops or oil on your hands, and maintenance is easy.

Zoom lock switch
Uses a mechanism that locks the zoom ring at a focal length of 18 mm. When carrying the lens, it prevents inadvertent extension due to its own weight.
