Sony’s New Full Frame X-E Impersonator The Sony a7C is Impressive

The new Sony a7C leaked last night over at Sonyaddict and I noticed how close the new Sony a7C and Fujifilm X-E3 are in size so I decided to make the above accurate size comparison. Both cameras are 24mp and both have a 3″ rear touch screen, but the Sony a7C has a significantly larger battery than the Fujifilm X-E3 and it still has IBIS plus shoots at 10 fps and the screen is fully articulating.

As for the size and weight comparison

Sony a7C
124 × 71.1 × 59.7mm
509g

Fujifilm X-E3
121.3 x 73.9 x 42.7 mm
337 g

As for how the size and weight compare the Fujfiilm X-E3 is still lightest by 172g. The X-E3 is even a little taller than the a7C by 2.8mm, but the Sony a7C is wider by 2.7mm and deeper by 17mm, which is probably mostly in the grip to hold the Sony’s new large NP-FZ100 battery.

This gives us some hope that the Fujifilm X-E line will get IBIS sooner than later, maybe even in the Fujifilm X-E4. Fujifilm could also use its new Fujifilm NP-W235 battery in the grip like Sony does to keep the body from getting too big.
