Fujinon XF16-80mm F4 R OIS WR Post Launch Roundup

Some are very excited about the Fujinon XF16-80mm F4 R OIS WR, while others would like faster aperture zooms with stabilization, but the overall impression of the new XF16-80mm by those that have used one have been overwhelmingly very positive. I hope this becomes Fujifilm’s go-to zoom kit lens soon because the weather sealing will be welcome since many of Fujifilm’s cameras now have some amount of sealing.

There are some conflicting reports about how much correction is done in-camera via software with this lens, but most zooms like it have software correction today to keep their size down. I think the confusion is coming from some RAW software auto-correcting distortion, while others do now. There is also some edge softness, but this should be fine for most applications. Also, the center is very sharp and bokeh is pleasing for most.
