DPRTV posted thier Fujifilm X-A7 Preview. Below are excerpts from the video:
- X-A cameras have always been really cheap bad performers
- Upgrade AF and video over other low-level Fujifilm cameras
- The 16×9 rear screen is great and the touch screen works well
- Shooting off the screen isn’t very stable
- 6fps with AF is nice
- The buffer rate isn’t very good because it only lets you get 4 shots in a row or 8-9 jpeg shots in a row
- Face detect works pretty far away
- Face detect can pick the wrong face in a crowd
- Film simulation shows you a before and after view now which is a nice feature
- 24mp using copper wire construction, but not BSI sensor
- Two quick menus now
- The digital interface should be more customizable since the camera lacks physical controls
- AF isn’t great in low light, but this is a preproduction camera
- The X-A7 is a simplified camera that is targeted at smartphone users
- You can connect the camera to your phone via USB-C
- Preamp his shooting video
- The video is sharp and the selfie screen is great
- There is an electronic stabilizer while shooting video and it’s not much better than any other electronic stabilization system so it’s better to stabilize in post
- It’s good to have usable 4k recording on this camera
- Great to have a mic jack, but there is not headphone jack
- You will need an ND filter
- Should have left more USB-C features in the camera like the mic jack adapter the XT30 has
- Base ISO for video is 400
- Great Fujifilm colors
- This camera is marketed to the JPEG market
- AF performance is good, but not great
- Great for portraits, but not a good camera for sports/action
- Good things are Great screen, very light (but cheap feal), the touch screen is great, and great joystick on the back
- Bad things Limited customizable buttons so no back button focusing and no EVF
