The Fujifilm X-T2 is Selling Better Than Projected

It seems the Fujifilm X-T2 is selling much better than expected. Fujifilm Japan has issued a formal statement about the shortages to come due to the unexpectedly high demand.

Translated Release:

“Customers Dear

Dear Thank you thick continued patronage Fujifilm product. Mirror-less digital camera “FUJIFILM X-T2” is, received a reservation of more than assumed, production has become a situation that does not keep up with the orders. For this reason, you may be asked for a while days to deliver the product you ordered. And we apologize for the inconvenience to our customers, actually there is no excuse. So we will continue to work to intensive production, I would like to humbly thank you for your understanding.”

Good luck to everyone with a preoder. Hopefully Fujifilm is able to ramp up production quickly.

Any real, not pre release reviews out?

    • There was the initial dump which you can find here

Then nothing… Mine will arrive Tuesday, but in my experience the performance of the prerelease review camera is basically what you will see from a launch camera. From all of the reading I have done it seem the camera will have slightly faster/more accurate AF.

In Fujifilms words the X-T2 will use phase detection 2/3 of the time, while the X-Pro 2 used it 1/3 of the time. This will change when the X-Pro 2 receive its first major FW update, but the X-Pro 2 will not receive the advanced AF-C tuning tools.

I hope this helps a bit.

No doubt. Amazon order arrival estimate October 03, 2016 – November 10, 2016. Oh well, guess it will be a long good-bye to the X-T1 then.

Got mine and just started using it last night. Seems great so far, but I haven’t used the AF-C yet. Seems to focus slightly faster with the 56 mm anyway, but maybe I’m imagining it. Will be checking out low light files soon. I had pre-ordered it shortly after it was announced and had not gotten the X-Pro2.
