Fujifilm Instax Film Hack: How to Use Instax in Kodak Instant Cameras

Josh Gladstone of PhotoChemicals made an 11-minute video explaining how you can use Instax film in old Kodak instant cameras. His hack works for one picture at a time, for now, but he hopes to figure out a way to load around 6 hacked prints in a single cartridge. I wonder if we will see a similar hack for Polaroid cameras in the future. This isn’t the first time we have seen Instax film hacked to work in another camera.

Fujifilm has two presentations scheduled at The Camera World Show London this year. One is a seminar “Paul Sanders, will be discussing the tricks and tips to capturing unique architectural and landscape shots. He’ll explain the best practices, hints and ideas about how to look beyond the traditional to get the exceptionally unique perspective pictures.  He is a former Picture Editor of The Times and Fujifilm Ambassador.” The other is a live demonstration “Paul Sanders will offering advice on the Fujifilm Stand surrounding long exposure.  He, along with Fujifilm, will have a waterfall scene along with a few props and explaining the best tricks, tips, and techniques on how to capture incredible Long Exposure Landscape shots. ” You can get tickets here.

Fujifilm is also looking for feedback from camera owners at this time. The surveys are regional and open for the United States of America and Canada at this time. There is no region lock on the surveys at this time and hopefully they will open more regional surveys soon.

Fujifilm X-T2 In Stock

_dsc4547

B&H Photo has the Fujifilm X-T2 in stock now. You can get the camera body only or the camera with the 18-55mm, which is still a great lens to own. I highly recommend the hand grip if you own a lot of old Fujifilm batteries or generics like I do because you can keep the included NP-W126S battery in the body and fill your grip with your old batteries without experiencing any hangups from voltage/heat issues.

Fujifilm is Suing More Than 50 Grey Market Camera Sellers For Unfair Competition

fijifilm logo

Worldipreview reported that Fujifilm is filing lawsuits against more than 50 grey market sellers in the US:

“Digital camera manufacturer Fujifilm has targeted more than 50 defendants in an action for unfair competition. Filed at the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Tuesday, October 11, Fujifilm’s suit alleged that the defendants, which include retailers, wilfully imported and sold grey market cameras. According to Fujifilm, the cameras physically and materially differ from products authorized for import to and sale in the US.”

Fujifilm has been very litigious lately and I am not sure the bad PR is going to be worth the results if they should win. Canon filed and Olympus have filed similar suites in the past.
