An Ethereal Fujifilm X-T IR Project: Using The Fujifilm X-T1 IR and X-T2 IR

A few months ago I met Tomasz Lazar at the Miami Street Photography Festival and he was working on some interesting projects at that time. He’s a very talented photographers and I have followed him since, but his latest project was published in “An Ethereal Forest Where Japanese Commit Suicide” for national geographic.

I recalled his use of the Fujifilm X-T1 IR for this project and wanted to verify some information before sharing the article, but when I did he brought up an additional detail, Fujifilm prepared a Fujifilm X-T2 IR for him. I asked him if I could share the details and will alter my post if anything changes, but he described the setup as “Fujifilm Japan prepared for me camera with special sensor. The same was with the XT1 IR. Probably it will be possible to buy soon. I was using both cameras with IR filters also on them.”

This is great news for IR Photography fans. I was really interested in picking up a Fujifilm X-T1 IR for personal use, but was waiting for a price drop or an X-T2 IR. Lets hope that Fujifilm decided to sell these cameras to the public a little bit quicker than they did the original Fujifilm X-T1 IR. Anyway make sure to check out “An Ethereal Forest Where Japanese Commit Suicide” and follow Tomasz Lazar.

Reid Review: Fujifilm X100F

Sean Reid of Reid Reviews (www.reidreviews.com) just posted a review of a full production level X100F with illustrations converted from RAF in Lightroom. His testing confirms that the X100F’s autofocus is indeed faster than past X100 series cameras, The review will be followed up next month with a extended field report and studio tests comparing the file quality of the X100F to files from the X100S/T and X-Pro 2. Reid will also be testing the XF 50/2.0 and the GFX. Reid Reviews accepts no advertising and is supported only by paid subscribers.

If you’re a past reader like me ReidReview dropped Flash and is now using HTML5. The upgrade brings mobile/iPad access along with high resolution images. If you are new to ReidReview he has some long running useful methodologies like his standard studio scene with objects everyone should be familiar with to help readers judge color reproduction.
