FUJIFILM x Magnum Photos Collaborative Project “HOME”
Hosting Photo Exhibitions of 15 Magnum Photographers in 7 Cities Worldwide

Fujifilm Corporation is collaborating with Magnum Photos on a major new project exploring the subject of “HOME”. An exhibition of the work will tour to seven cities around the world starting in March 2018, and be accompanied by a photobook.

15 Magnum Photographers will explore the theme of “HOME” for the project. Known for their wide range of approaches, Magnum Photos members produce documentary photography that encompasses art and photojournalism. Sharing the agency’s legacy for humanistic photography, associated with its founding in 1947, Magnum’s contemporary practitioners are united by a curiosity about the world. This project invites them to explore a universal subject familiar to us all.

“Home” is not only defined as a space for physical living. It holds various other associations that are emotional, biological, cultural and societal. These 15 photographers have been given an open brief to explore the subject through their own individual practices, the resulting work reflecting their personal take on a subject that we all record photographically. September 2017 Fujifilm G-mount/X-mount Lens Roadmap

Telephoto Prime Lens “GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR”
“GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR” is a telephoto prime lens with a focal length equivalent to 198mm (on a 35mm format) and maximum F4 aperture, enabling a beautiful bokeh effect for shooting portrait and landscapes images.

Tele Converter “GF1.4X TC WR”
The “GF1.4X TC WR” is a high-performance teleconverter capable of multiplying the focal length by 1.4x. Compatible with “GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR”, its focal length will be 350mm (equivalent to 277mm on a 35mm format).


Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens “XF8-16mmF2.8 R LM WR”
“XF8-16mmF2.8 R LM WR” is an ultra-wide angle zoom lens with a focal length equivalent to 12-24mm (on a 35mm format) and maximum F2.8 aperture. It is a lens most suited to shooting dynamic landscapes, night views and architecture. With the “XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR” and “XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR”, Fujifilm’s XF lenses will cover F2.8 across the entire zoom range of Wide/Standard/Telephoto shooting areas.

Telephoto Prime Lens “XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR”
“XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR” is a telephoto prime lens with a focal length equivalent to 305mm (on a 35mm format) and maximum bright F2.0 aperture. It is a lens most suited to shooting sports, nature, or wild-birds. Both the existing “FUJINON Teleconverter XF1.4X TC WR” and “FUJINON Teleconverter XF2.0X TC WR” are compatible, so it can be used as an ultra-telephoto lens.

Will Fujifilm Add IBIS to a Future X-T Camera?

In an interview not long ago Fujifilm proclaimed “XF mount is not compatible with IBIS” because it would affect image quality due to the X-mount being too small for the sensor to move within, which is why I have largely ignored the rumors about the Fujifilm X-T2S/X-T3. If Fujifilm decided to produce this camera, it would almost certainly require some digital vignetting correction at the very least.

Sensors today could easily compensate for light vignetting with an embedded lens profile, but when pushing an image more than a few stops there would be some additional uneven noise in the image. This might not be an issue for many, but it would represent reduced image quality. This system would also have problems with glass that is not well corrected optically and could have issues with adapted glass regardless of image circle since the possibly uneven vignette would have to be corrected in post.
