New Meike Arca Swiss Hand Grip Plate For X-T2, X-T1, X-Pro2

Meike, Metal hand grip for Fujifilm improves the grip on the camera and reduces the chances of camera shake, especially when using heavy, large aperture lenses. This grip can be left in place when using a tripod and enables users to change the battery and SD card without having to remove the grip from the body. The Arca Swiss plate can be used as a quick release with compatible tripods.

Iridient Developer 3.2 Released With Fujifilm X-E3 Support

Iridient Developer 3.2 is another Adobe alternative for those unhappy with the move to cloud and it’s designed primarily with Fujifilm Cameras in mind. The latest version adds Fujifilm X-E3 support in addition to the following features:

  • New Features:
    • New Lightroom plug-in for faster, easier round trip transfer of RAW images from Lightroom to Iridient Developer and back.
    • New option added to easily invert negatives.
    • Support added for RAW images from the Fujifilm X-E3.
  • Bug Fixes:
    • Fixed issue with loading PEF format images from Pentax KP where the image would be all white. This issue did not effect DNG format images.
    • Fixed default crop values for 24MP Fujifilm models when using compressed format to match up with camera JPEG and uncompressed RAF images.
    • Fixed an issue with the baseline exposure levels for RAF images from the Fujifilm GFX 50S at extended ISO values of 51200 and 102400.
  • Improvements:
    • Improved per body white balance calibration for recent Fujifilm models.
    • Improved handling of automatic lens vignetting correction for some body/lens combinations for RAF images from recent Fujifilm X series models.
    • Improved default camera profile for the Fujifilm GFX 50S.
    • Improved GPS metadata coordinate precision for some GPS units and image formats (Fujifilm RAF).
    • Updated default DNG color matrix values for new models added in Adobe Camera RAW through version 10.0.
    • TIFF export libraries updated (libTIFF 4.0.8).
    • PNG export libraries updated (libpng 1.6.32).

Adobe Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC 2018 Announced

So the rumors were true and Adobe did, in fact, release a new version of Lightroom, which is broken down into CC and CC classic. This CC seems to be geared toward professionals that want to access all of there pictures and edits everywhere, while CC classic is more local storage based. I am currently installing my copy and I will give it a try, but uploading all of my photos to the cloud is going to take a long time. This update is going to be make or break for Adobe because many do not like the subscription model and their storage prices aren’t great especially for GFX owners. Companies like ON1 might grow quite a bit because of this move. I wish Adobe allowed access to other cloud platforms so that prices could be competitive. You can watch more videos about the new features in Lightroom CC on Adobe’s Youtube Channel here.

Fujifilm X-T2 and X-T20 Roundup

Lots of photographers are moving to the Fujifilm X-T2 from Nikon and Canon, but the X-T20 is more than enough camera for most photographers. The nice thing about Fujifilm cameras is that they have consistently high picture quality, but the video quality across models does vary slightly. The Fujifilm X-T2 is king when it comes to 4k video in the Fujifilm lineup, but the other cameras aren’t far behind. Maybe we will see a video camera from Fujifilm in the near future, but until then the X-T2 is the way to go.

Fujifilm GFX FPS More Additional Gifts

I just received an E-mail about another Fujifilm GFX FPS gift coming my way that definitely ups the value of the program for me at least. We have seen Fujifilm GFX hard cases for months now and Fujifilm is finally going to send some out to FPS members as a free gift. I am attaching the text of the communication below as a JPG from the PDF I received.

It looks like Fujifilm is trying to make it an irresistible time to own a GFX and become a member of the GFX FPS program! I can’t wait to get my GFX hard case.

ON1 Photo RAW 2018 Beta Fujifilm GFX 50S Bug Demonstrated

Gavin Lyons further clarified the ON1 Photo RAW 2018 Beta bug that he was experiencing in the video above and in a blog post that he shared with me. The above video demonstrates

– Zoom in issue with the GFX 50s RAF Files
– Flickering while using slider controls with GFX – – 50s RAF files
Effect preview often pixelated previews.

There haven’t been any reports of the bug surfacing with regular X-Trans files so this seems to be somewhat isolated. Let’s hope ON1 corrects it soon. I am seriously considering moving to ON1 if the upcoming Adobe update coming this year fails to impress. In the meantime don’t forget the excellent sale prices on the Fujifilm GFX happening now. Using our affiliate links helps the site and costs you nothing.

Also, the ON1 Photo RAW 2018 Live Stream is now available
