iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and visionOS 2 Added Native Fujifilm X100VI RAW File Support

Fujifilm X100VI uncompressed RAW files are now supported by iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and visionOS 2 according to Apple. I just received an X100VI myself and will be sharing some impressions about it in the future. I have always loved the X100 and repurchased the original and X100S a few times because I couldn’t justify keeping it in the past, but I loved how it felt. Now that I do not have an M camera and currently only shoot with Fujifilm we will see if that changed.

BCN: Fujifilm Pushed Nikon Out Of Third Place

According to BCN one of Japan’s largest sales trackers Fujifilm claimed third place in camera sales for the first time since August 2024 thanks largely to Fujifilm X-M5 sales making up half of Fujifilm’s sales.

In the mirrorless camera market of January 2025, Fujifilm rose to third place in market share by unit sales among manufacturers. This marks the first time in five months that the company has entered the top three, since August 2024.

Fujifilm rose to third place, surpassing Nikon, with a 15.9% market share, an increase of 4.6 percentage points from the previous month. This marks Fujifilm’s first return to the top three in five months.

The FUJIFILM X-M5 ranked third. Since its release at the end of November 2024, it has steadily climbed the rankings each month, making its first appearance in the top three in its third month. The model accounts for approximately half of the company’s total unit sales, significantly contributing to its market share growth. (BCN Research Institute, Saito Kakei)

Meike Pro Lenses Coming to X-Mount

Meike 55mm f/1.4 AF: B&H Photo / Amazon

Meike has big plans for lenses over the years to come, but they recently announced the Meike AF 55mm f/1.8 PRO for Fujifilm X, and the first image from the upcoming Meike AF 85mm f/1.8 Pro for Fujifilm X was just released on weibo. Many Chinese lens manufacturers are now making PRO lenses and it is my understanding that it is the product of a massive investment by the Chinese government to help Chinese companies catch and even surpass competitors abroad.

TTArtisan Deepseek Teaser

TTArtisan is teasing that something new is coming at CP+ that they have never done before and they tied Deepseek into the teaser for some reason. The Deepseek tie-in might just be due to it being a popular topic, but part of me wonders if TTArtisan might be working on some AI plugins, maybe something like TopazLabs does, but powered by Deepseek.
