Fujifilm X-T3 Begins Shipping and Still a Few in Stock

B&H Photo has a few Fujifilm X-T3 left in stock and they are processing shipments since last night so everyone that ordered from them should receive a camera on time. It looks like Amazon is sold out and I’m unsure about Adorama. I can’t wait to receive mine and see how it compares to my X-T2. It’s days like these that make me wish I kept all the X cameras I have owned all the way back to the X100 and X-Pro1.

The software update Ver.1.11.0 from Ver.1.8 incorporates the following issue:

  1. The compatibility of tethered shooting with “FUJIFILM X-T3” is added.
    The additional function below can be used.
    ・Backup/restore of camera setting for tethered shooting.
    ・Tethered shooting via USB or Wi-Fi.

Fujifilm X-T3 Firmware 1.01 Lockup Fix Released Ahead of US Launch

Fujifilm hopefully fixed their lockup issue before the official Fujifilm X-T3 US launch. They are responding quickly with this bug fix, which will hopefully be the last for the X-T3.

The firmware update Ver.1.01 from Ver.1.00 incorporates the following issues:

  1. Compensation of distortion is optimized in CH shooting with electronic shutter.
  2. The phenomenon is fixed that the mechanical LOCK of some SD cards is not recognized.
  3. Fix of other slight defects

DPReview: Fujifilm X-T3 Added to Studio Scene

DPReview added the Fujifilm X-T3 to their studio scene comparison tool and the results look like a mixed bag. Sometimes the Fujifilm X-T3 retains more detail than the X-T2, while others the X-T2 seems to be handling noise better than the X-T3.

Photokina 2018 Starts in One Week

Photokina 2018 is almost here and it should be an exciting one for Fujifilm medium format fans. Fujifilm is expected to announce the Fujifilm GFX50R along with a new 40mm pancake lens designed to make the GFX50R the most compact and affordable medium format camera on the market yet. We also might hear some information about the Fujifilm GFX100S, which is expected next year.

Fujifilm already announced the Fujifilm X-T3 and it will be shipping worldwide before Photokina 2018 kicks off so we aren’t expecting much for X cameras at Photokina 2018 this year. It’s likely they will have special hands-on events for the Fujinon XF200mm F2 R LM OIS WR since it’s expected to ship in October along with mockups for the Fujinon XF 33mm f/1 R WR, XF16-80mm f/4 R LM OIS WR, and XF16mm f/2.8 R WR, but that will probably be everything for APS-C cameras from Fujifilm.
