Fuji Guys: Fujifilm SQ20 First Look

The Fuji Guys take a first look at the new Fujifilm Instax SQ20 and compare it to the old Fujifilm SQ10, which is still a great Instax Square camera. Below are some excerpts:

  • Replacement for the SQ10 with minor changes
  • Two colors matte black and beige
  • Selfie mirror on the front
  • Internal memory for about 50 shots
  • microSD slot
  • LED Flash
  • Built-in internal battery that’s good for about 100 prints
  • Preview shot before you print
  • On and off switch on the back instead of the front
  • Instax Square Film
  • Dual shutter release so it’s left and right-handed
  • Short video clip feature that you can take stills from
  • Slightly smaller screen than the SQ10
  • Digital Zoom using the front of the lens, but there is more than enough resolution for 4x prints
  • Standard/bulb/doubt exposure/split/collage mode/timeshift burst
  • Edit image after taking it in camera

Fujinon XF 200mm f2 OIS WR Round-up

Now that the Fujinon XF200mm is shipping there are a few new reviews out worth sharing. So far I have only come across two complaints from reviewers about the XF200mm. The First is that the XF200mm does not have a drop in filter like other lenses its size so you have to buy a big 105mm filter if you want to use one. The Second complaint is a less valid complaint and it comes from full-frame DSLR users that like to review Fujifilm camera, they wish that Fujifilm didn’t use a crop sensor. Beyond that everyone seems pretty happy with the XF200 even though few will purchase theFujinon XF200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR.

Luminar 3 With Libraries Coming December 18th

With the release of ON1 2019 the other day there are now details about Luminar 3 coming with libraries December 18th. This will be a free update for Luminar 2018 owners so no need to purchase an update, but if you haven’t purchased Luminar 2018 yet you can use our discount code FUJIADDICT too purchase a new copy or update an old copy of Luminar.

“The new AI-powered filter comes ahead of Luminar 3 with Libraries, which will start being rolled out to Luminar owners on December 18. Skylum has made the unprecedented decision to include every new feature of Luminar — big and small — at no additional cost to current Luminar 2018 owners until late 2019. This will include Luminar 3 with Libraries, which will allow photographers to organize, browse, and edit images on the fly. Additionally, Luminar customers don’t have to pay an annual subscription fee.”

With the release of ON1 2019 and Luminar adding digital asset management soon I have been asked by a few photographers which they should get. At this time I would say that I like Luminar the most for quick results, but ON1 is more lightroom like and it even includes an intelligent import from Lightroom function that maintains your edits. I do not think I could pick just one yet so if you like Lightroom maybe give ON1 2019 a try, but if you want to try a very different interface give Luminar at try.
