  • Romain Laurendeau is a french photographer that started with science and moved into photography
  • He became a visual journalist to tell stories of people different than him
  • For Romain, the award validates his work
  • He likes to tell stories about human tragedy
  • His photo was to get people to wonder how people in Algeria live
  • For him there is a universal story of people facing ideology that prevents them from dreaming
  • It was difficult for him to get a visa and room to sleep in Algeria
  • The project took about 5 years to complete
  • He took about 1,000 photos a day while in Algeria
  •  x100 is very quiet so it didn’t disturb the scene
  • The X100 lets Romain Laurendeau photograph the intimate because it is small, light, and silent, so it is forgotten
  • They knew he was taking pictures, but never knew very well
  • He has X100, X100S, X100T, X100S and plans to get an X100V probably

Photons to Photos noticed that the macro extension tube PDF went missing from Fujifilm’s website so they made their own and filled in some additional details about Fujifilm’s extension tubes. NEW YORK, June 01, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: TNXP) (Tonix or the Company), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, today announced an agreement whereby FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies (FDB) will provide contract manufacturing and development services to support the manufacturing of Tonix’s COVID-19 vaccine candidate, TNX-1800, for clinical trial supply.

Metabones 1.26x Expander Available and GFX 100 With Otus 55mm f/1.4

The Metabones 1.26x Expander was announced a few months ago and it can now be ordered from B&H Photo. For those wondering how this expander performs the last word tested it on the GFX 100 with Otus 55mm f/1.4 and Jim Kasson was impressed.

I consider this an impressive performance for the Metabones expander. You’ve got to expect some loss in quality with a teleconverter, but this is quite modest. Of course, as with most adapters, I would expect the degradation to vary with the lens, with the shorter lenses being the most problematic. – the last word

Fujifilm Capture One 20: Getting Started With Capture One Fujifilm

Capture one release an instructional video for the Capture One Fujifilm edition. I am personally using capture one more and more lately, but I still find that the interface is not as intuitive as Lightroom so it is good that capture one is releasing these kinds of tutorials, but I think they need to do more if they want to grow against Lightroom.
