TTartisan Lens Roadmap: First AF Lens, 40mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, TTartisan 90mm f/1.25 For GFX, and More

TTartisan is working on several new lenses and it looks like my findings of the 90mm covering the GFX are shared by TTartisan since a TTartisan 90mm f/1.25 is coming for G mount according to the roadmap photorumors published. GFX might not have a lot of fast native AF glass at this time, but there are some great 3rd party options:

  • TTartisan will announce their first autofocus lens in 2022 (probably for Fuji X-mount)
  • The current TTartisan 90mm f/1.25 will come to more mounts, including Fuji GFX
  • Another TTartisan 23mm f/5.6 APS-C lens for Sony/Fuji/Canon/MFT mounts
  • New TTartisan 28mm f/5.6 lens for Leica M-mount
  • Another high-end lens for M-mount
  • TTartisan 40mm f/2.8 macro lens coming in September for $150 (pictured above) – here are the details:

Financial Results FY2021 Q1

Solid sales of instant photo systems drove revenue up 45.6% year-over-year to ¥72.6 billion and operating income to move into the black by ¥8.0 billion compared to the losses a year earlier.

In the consumer imaging field, revenues increased on solid sales of instant photo systems and dry minilabs / materials for retailers in the U.S. As an entry model of instant photo systems, which enables users to enjoy on-the-spot photo printing, we launched the instax mini 40 compatible with mini format film in April 2021. It was rated highly in the market for its classic camera design that never goes out of style, and achieved firm sales in Japan and overseas.

In the professional imaging field, sales of digital cameras remained steady, including the FUJIFILM GFX100S, a mirrorless digital camera which has gained a high reputation worldwide for its superior image quality using a large format sensor despite its compact body. Sales of broadcast and cinema lenses, which had been hit by a decline in demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic, turned upward, contributing to higher revenue. The monitoring / measurement field, including long-range surveillance cameras and machine vision lenses, also achieved significantly higher revenue than a year earlier.

TTartisan 11mm f/2.8 Announced Faster Than Expected

The announcement of the TTartisan 11mm f/2.8 came faster than expected, but it looks like it will be a fun lens for astrophotography and creatives. This will benefit single-shot Astro the most, but I am curious if I can pull off a 15-30 minute exposure with my tracker using one. This lens will definitely be on my shortlist of lenses to get soon.

Update: The 11mm has been dehooded so it will not show like it does with the adapted lens

TTartisan 11mm f/2.8 Coming Soon For Fujifilm GFX

I received an anonymous tip that a TTartisan 11mm f/2.8 is coming to the GFX soon and it should be great for astrophotography. If true it will probably be a fisheye in my opinion, but third-party fast glass is always welcome for the GFX. In fact, I am currently testing the TTartisan 90mm f/1.25 on the GFX with an adapter and it covers the sensor pretty much completely and it is a lot better than other adapted glass I tried over this Milky Way season, but more on that in a later post.

For now, I hope the TTartisan 11mm f/2.8 comes soon and I hope I can get my hands on one because I am very impressed with the TTartisan 90mm f/1.25  so far.

Update: Someone adapted the M-mount 11mm f/2.8 design to the GFX which you can see below which probably lead to the GFX mount lens being produced.
