JJC Quick Release Plate for AirTag

JJC released an Arca Swiss quick-release plate with room for an AirTag on Amazon. It is similar to the SmallRig AirTag Generic Base Plate, but it attaches with a finger screw instead of a hex bolt so no tool is needed to attach it or remove it from the camera, which saves you a few dollars.

  • 【Quick Release Plate for Airtag】The JJC quick release plate is designed with a sleek hidden compartment to effectively conceal an Apple AirTag to easily track a camera’s location. (NOTE: AirTag is not included.)
  • 【Arca-Type Design】The Arca-Type Design Plate allows to be quickly connected to a tripod and other accessories for shooting. The base has two built-in 1/4”-20 threaded holes, which can be attached to a tripod head. In addition, it features a strap loop to be compatible with a separately wrist strap.
  • 【Reliable Quality】The tripod quick release mount is made of aluminum, sturdy and durable. The compartment cover is made of PC to avoid interfering with the tracking range of the AirTag. It has rubber pads to prevent twisting and one 1/4″-20 camera mounting screw.
  • 【Camera Compatibility】The base T slot provides a convenient way to mount on a camera and no need to remove the plate when you replace the battery or memory card. It’s compatible with Canon R100 / R50 / R10 / R8 / R7 / R6 / R5 / RP / 6D Mark II / 5D Mark II / Sony A7CR / A7C II / A7R V / A7R IV / A7 III / A6700 / A6400 / ZV-E10 / ZV-EV1 / Nikon Zf / Zfc / Z50 / Z30 / Z7 / Z6 / and more.

PDR: Fujifilm X100VI, X100V, X-T5, and X-H2 PDR Compared by Photons To Photos

Photons To Photos published its Fujifilm X100VI PDR results, which are quite impressive and will only help make the X100VI harder to find. Fujifilm worked some magic with its 40MP sensor giving the Fujifilm X100VI impressive lowlight ISO performance that exceeds the X-H2 and far exceeds the X-T5.

Fujifilm seems to have tuned the X100VI to have impressive high ISO performance that just about matches the performance of their 26MP sensor with low light. The difference in performance could also be a cooling issue, but no matter what it is the above results are great if you like to shoot in low light or without a flash. You can manipulate the full results here if you are interested.

Fringer EF-GFX Pro Firmware 1.70 Release

Fringer EF-GFX: B&H Photo / Amazon

Finger Firmware Version 1.70 Download Here

1. A new function added: AF adjustment (PDAF only)
In most cases, there should not be any accuracy issues when phase detection AF is engaged. But if certain individual lens has focus-shifting issues, an AF adjustment function is present.

1) Usage
i. Enable AF adjustment for the lens currently installed: Power on the camera. Enter function code “1212” using the aperture ring (see “3.8 Configuration fast switching” in the user’s manual). The camera will reboot automatically.
ii. Set AF adjustment value: Take the adapter off the camera. Connect it to a computer. Check “settings.ini” in the root folder. There should be a line newly added to the end of the file such as PdafFix001 = 0 ;Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM
iii. Change the “0” after the “=” to a value you want (between -30 and 30). Enter a positive value if the focus point needs to be moved towards infinity. Then save the file and disconnect the cable.
iv. Reinstall the adapter and the lens to the camera and do focus tests again. Repeat the above steps if necessary.

2) Additional notes
i. At most 10 lenses are allowed to use the AF adjustment at the same time. If the 11th lens needs to be added, you must edit the settings.ini and remove at least one PdafFixXXX line that is not needed anymore. ii. This AF adjustment function is valid for phase detection AF only. Thus,
it has no function on GF X50 series cameras.
ii. Only lenses tested and optimized support PDAF. Thus, the AF adjustment function is valid for tested and optimized lenses only. iv. In most cases, it is not recommended to use the AF adjustment function. Sometimes it can make things worse. Therefore, only if there is a big focus shift in a fixed direction and cannot be eliminated by multiple focusing, you can try this AF adjustment function.

2. Fixed AF performance issues for some lenses of the following models: Lens didn’t get recognized by the adapter due to different lens version.

1) Tokina AT-X M100 PRO D Macro 100mm f/2.8

3. Added following lenses to the tested and optimized lens list:

  1. Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM
  2. Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
  3. Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM + 2X
  4. SIGMA 24mm F1.8 EX DG ASPHERICAL MACRO
  5. SIGMA 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM
  6. SIGMA 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM S018 + 1.4X
  7. SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C015/S014 + 1.4X
  8. Tokina AT-X 24-70mm f/ 2.8 PRO FX

4. Fixed AF-not-working issue for the following lens and TC combinations:

  1. Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM + 2X
  2. SIGMA 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM S018 + 1.4X
  3. SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C015/S014 + 1.4X

5. Added in-body vignetting and distortion correction profile for the following lenses.
