More Vitrox Lab Lenses Details Leaked

A weibo leaker has given us some additional details about the Viltrox lab lenses that I fist leaked here. The new Lab prime lenses will all be coming to X/E/Z mount according to weibo, but the 135mm seems uncertain. This leaker also seems to think these lenses will all come at NAB where as our previous report indicated only the 35mm f/1.2 would be ready by then.

[New members of the domestic Viltrox LAB series may appear in April] The LAB series is Viltrox’s high-end lens, which is said to be positioned above the PRO. The actual performance is also very good. The good news is that new members of the LAB series are coming, namely: Viltrox 35mm f/1.2 LAB, Viltrox 50mm f/1.2 LAB and Viltrox 85mm f/1.2 LAB. All will be launched in Fujifilm X, Nikon Z, and Sony E mount versions, and are expected to appear during the NAB exhibition in April. – Weibo

  • Viltrox 35mm f/1.2 LAB Expected at NAB in April
  • Viltrox 50mm f/1.2 LAB Coming After NAB
  • Viltrox 85mm f/1.2 LAB Coming After NAB
  • Viltrox 135mm f/1.8 LAB

A few months ago, I reached out to a source within Viltrox, who told me that Viltrox wasn’t currently working on bringing the 135mm to X-mount but wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility in the future. Maybe Fujifilm websites reporting on upcoming LAB lenses will help encourage Viltrox to bring the whole lineup to X-mount.
