The Fujiguys released a video with tips and recommendations about how to capture high-quality audio with your Fujifilm camera. Below is a summary of the above video recommendations:
- Options
- Shotgun Mics
- Best for when you’re close to the camera and is a good option as an all-around microphone because they are directional
- If you can only get one get a shotgun mic like the Rode Video Mic Pro
- Lavalier Mics
- A good option for if you’re far away from the microphone and the Fujiguys usually like Sennheiser Lavalier Mics and they used to pair them with Sennheiser EW100, but it was bulky so now they use the Rode Wireless Go because they are tinny
- The Rode Wireless Go can also be clipped onto a person on its own without an independent lavalier mic
- Settings
- For Lavalier Mics you need to go under Audio settings, external mic levels should be sent manually to -12db
- For Shotgun mics like the Rode Video Mic Pro he jus has the mic plugged in and is setting the sound on the mic
- With the Rode Wireless Go you set it to -12db and on the wireless go set the audio to medium
- Mixers
- You can use a mixer like the Saramonic in the video to record two separate channels of audio or a mono track with multiple inputs
- Shotgun Mics
