Kai Wong posted his review of the Fujifilm GFX100 using final firmware. Below are excerpts from his review:
- Ever felt 24MP was not enough?
- Comments on it not being a typical size medium format sensor size
- Medium format cameras are generally meant for tripod shooting, but not with a body like this
- Probably more than you need if you have to ask
- Like a 1DX, but with a much bigger sensor
- Has the X-T3 goodness including its AF algorithm
- Functions like an oversized X
- Has features you wouldn’t expect from a high end camera
- The soft skin affect smooths out skin well, but only works in JPG
- Fujifilm is up there with Sony for face/eye detection
- Kai had trouble with his face/eye detect on the GFX100, but the people he was with had zero issue
- The feature worked accurately on the other cameras and it was fast
- 4x bigger sensor than X-T3, but not 4x slower just a little slower
- Focus points cover most of the frame
- Shifting a lot of glass at once can get behind when a subject is moving towards you
- Soft shutter like the X-H1
- Easily get shake free shots at 1/125th of a second
- Miss mode and shutter speed dial because it’s easier and quicker
- Not many negatives
- Bad rolling shutter with electronic shutter
- Can easily push the image 4 stops and get nice images
- They have done it well and not half assed
- Video footage looks great
- Video AF works great
- Still has a step change when using auto ISO in video
- IBIS works great for hand held video
- Cameras with smaller sensors have worse rolling shutter
- Quite a big of value for your money
- Fujifilm went the extra mile to go above and beyond to give you something special, which other companies would not have done
- Well done to all those lucky buggers that can afford one
