Fujinon XF50 f2 Announced in Fujifilm X-A3 Promo

Fuji Guy videos generally rehash a lot of what we already know, but sometimes they drop new detail for us like that there will be a Fujinon XF 50 f2 that will complete a trio of lenses along side the Fujinon XF 23 and XF 35 f2 lenses, which will now be called the designer series. The new designer series seems a lot like Leica’s Summicron and Summarit line up. Billy also covers the new Fujifilm X-A3 in great detail if it is a camera that interests you, but I thought the new lens announcement was the biggest new detail the video reveals.

It’s great that we now get relatively fast glass at relatively decent prices but I would rather have a 23-35 f2 zoom lens. 23 and 35 are probably the most common focal lengths used and, in my case, that lens would cover a good 80% of my pics.

Ditto, but it would have to be damn good IQ at those focal lengths!

Many photogs use 24-70 and 70-200 lenses and they are able to make excellent images.
A 23-35 is even narrower so maybe it would be easier to get good IQ than those other lenses.
Anyways it’s not gonna happen anytime soon unfortunately (unless Fuji reads this and goes YES!! haha)

didn’t they announce the 50/2 already in July? http://fujiaddict.com/2016/07/07/updated-fujifilm-july-lens-roadmap-revealed/

    Am I missing something?

    • Correct, but not that it was part of a trio line up similar to Leica Summicrons. It allows us to infer a lot of details about the lens that we couldn’t before. It’s an interesting stratigy.

Any news about a possible X-T10 replacement? thanks
