Fantastic Fujifilm Astrophotography

I have been gearing up to do an astrophotography shoot during the new moon for a little over a month now, but it can be hard to accomplish in South Florida, due to light pollution. While researching the shoot I came across some amazing work with the X-Pro 2 that I would like to share. Florian shot the above image using his Fujifilm X-Pro 2 and Fujinon XF16mm. Hopefully, I can manage an image a fraction as stunning as Florian’s Saturday night in the everglades with my Fujinon XF16mm, Fujinon XF10-24, Samyang 8mm Fisheye and Fujifilm X-Pro 2. You can read more about Florian’s methodology on his site, where he provides a useful tutorial for aspiring astrophotographers utilizing Hugin panorama to produce images like the one above.

Fujifilm 20mm f1.8 Equivalent?

2016_95461_fig01

Our sister site Photorumors found an interesting patent application the other day. It seems Fujifilm might have a Fujinon XF13mm f1.8 or Fujinon XF20mm f1.8 in the works, but the translation is imperfect. Maybe this patent explains the significant savings on the Fujinon XF 14mm F2.8 R. We will let you know when we know. Read More »
