DC.Watch took a ton of new photos of the Fujifilm GFX 50S and some of the more interesting ones are reproduced below in low resolution so if you want to see them in higher resolution visit DC.Watch. The new viewfinder looks absolutely massive and should be competitive with the viewfinder on the Leica SL, which I can’t say enough good things about. You can also clearly see the design similarities with the Fujifilm X-T2 in areas like the dual SD card slot latch, tilt screen latch, handgrip contacts and button layout. The Fujifilm GFX 50S looks like the Leica SL and Fujifilm X-T2 had a love child. On a side note the sync speed might be 1/125, unless the flash is built for the system and 4k video is mentioned, but the translation isn’t clear.

It’s also interesting to note that the top LCD never turns off and the absence of a shutter contributes to sharpness greatly. There is mention of the potential for third party lenses to have a leaf shutter or something like it, but I think this is unlikely unless the system sells enough units to spark interest in development and Fujifilm opens the platform. At the moment Sony is the only company with high sales numbers and a open platform that encouraging the development of these kinds of devices. I would love to see something like the Techart Pro on my Fujifilm X-T2 or an adapter for using Leica S leaf shutter lenses on the Fujifilm GFX 50S.
