Updated Fuji Sale Strategy for February 15th – April 2nd

Sale Title

The current sales prices from Fuji are very compelling, but I have a strategy for those of you that want to pick up some gear for just a little less. If you’re patient and very good at shopping around you can actually save up to 60% on your purchase if you do not mind buying used. Many Amazon sellers are motivated to sell and since their equipment is listed along side the equipment that is on sale it is easier to negotiate more favorable pricing during sales events like the current one. So far I have purchased 3 lenses between 40-60% off retail price in like new condition from resellers with excellent ratings using this strategy. Good luck and feel free to share any strategies you’re using with the rest of us in the comments.

Fuji X-Pro 2 Reviews and Analysis

X-Pro 2

Ian Mac Donald is in the middle of a five review series that is pretty comprehensive. His latest, about how the X-Pro 2 operates for street photography, only lightly touches on street shooting; but has some excellent pictures. He also has his low light shooting impressions up that include some high ISO results and an unboxing page. I’m looking forward to his Portraiture and Conclusion, but I am sure his conclusion will be quite positive. There seem to be a lot of photographers out there with X-Pro 2 bodies and I am glad that Fuji is allowing them to share their experiences with us. So far, the only less than stellar written impressions I have come across are from Eric Kim, but I think his issue comes from an inability to separate himself from his Leica. Read More »

Upcoming Special Exhibit

If you are going to be in the South Florida area between the end of February and March, FUJIFILM is sponsoring an interesting exhibit by Markus Klinko, featuring never before seen photos of David Bowie at the Markowitz Fine Art Gallery. The exhibit looks very good from the images online and I plan to attend.

Press Release:
FUJIFILM COLLABORATES WITH RENOWNED PHOTOGRAPHER MARKUS KLINKO TO CELEBRATE LIFE AND IMAGES OF POP CULTURE ICON

Valhalla, N.Y., February 16, 2016 – As a celebration of the life of the late David Bowie, FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced its partnership with celebrity photographer and director Markus Klinko for the grand reveal of never-before-seen photos of the cherished, international pop culture legend and fashion icon. The exhibition will be hosted at Markowicz Fine Art, in the Miami Design District, on Thursday, February 25th.

The collection of exclusive photos that will be revealed includes a set of 14 FUJIFILM instant film prints of Bowie taken in 2001, unseen intimate images, and daring shots with the artist. Many of the images were shot using the beloved FUJICHROME PROVIA film and printed on the radiant Fujiflex Crystal Archive Printing Material. Read More »
