Yesterday I went to Zoo Miami (Metro Zoo) with my Fujifilm X-Pro 2 and Fujinon XF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS + XF1.4X TC WR to see what the combination could do and I was not disappointed. Continuing with yesterdays theme here are some standard PROVIA videos to check out. I also forgot to add that the internal microphone was used while recording on the X-Pro 2 and everything was set to automatic/stock so I made no attempt to adjust levels. I haven’t made any adjustments to these videos either and they were shot using PROVIA with no grain. I’ll more fully report on my experience in the review later this month. Read More
I wanted to see how much Fuji improved it’s video so I shot a few videos last night of some local performers at an open mic night with the X-Pro 2 set to full auto. I haven’t made any adjustments to these videos and they were shot using ACROS with varying grain. The only major issue I ran into was a 15 min recording limit that preventing me from recoding some of the jam sessions. I’ll more fully report on my experience in the review later this month. My primary photo printer broke a bit ago so I’ve been shopping for a large format photo printer for home, but I’ve been waiting for the right sale. What’s a new camera release without a scandal? I have been using my X-Pro 2 consistently since receiving it Friday and have only experienced ONE camera reset while using a fully charged official Fuji battery my first time shooting. This was a foreseeable possibility since the launch date was delayed by about a month.
Fuji clearly warns against leaving the camera without a battery for too long, and the delay might have caused the reset issue that SOME of us have experienced. There have been plenty of users reporting a trouble-free shooting experience. The reason for this should be obvious, too. They received a more recently manufactured camera. Read More
Last weekend I took just the Fujinon XF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS to the Florida Renaissance Festival to see how it performed and it worked well for shooting performances and even roaming performers. I setup an album on 500px to share my photos as I prepare them for the review.
