A Young Photographers First Shoot

A daddy daughter combo shot a wedding together for the first time and turned it into an interesting blog post about the experience. The daughter that goes by “The G” shot the wedding completely manually with a Fujifilm X-T1 and X-E1, which is very impressive considering she’s only 9-years-old, dad must be a good teacher. The post includes many keepers and I hope she continues to develop her skills. I think it’s important to support young talent whenever we can.

Fujifilm X-Pro 2 IR Photography

_DSF2817
If you’re an original Fujifilm X fan like me, than you’re probably aware of how IR sensitive their cameras can be. They aren’t quite full spectrum cameras, but you can capture some unique shots with just a large R72 infrared filter and step down/up rings like I did the other day at Morikami. Read More »

Shoot Like Your Favorite Fujifilm Photographer

Fuji Photographers

Fujifilm’s new photographer site is a useful tool for learning what’s in your favorite X-Photographers bag. It’s loaded with tons of examples of their best work and you can search it by photographer/lenses/cameras/country/etc… Fujifilm did a great job organizing the new X-Photographers site and populated it with a ton of useful information that would be difficult to find elsewhere.

Fuji Tough

Fuji X100T

Fujifilm cameras have had a reputation for build quality since the first X100 was introduced in 2011, which is partially why we came up with our April Fools Post. Fujifilm’s latest blog posts about Bernd Ritschel and Daniel Malikyar remind us that Fujifilm has been producing durable cameras from the beginning even if they haven’t been rated for abuse like the Fujifilm X-T1 and X-Pro 2. Beyond the occasional defect I have read remarkably few stories of X cameras failing due to the elements since their introduction and can definitely understand the appeal of them for extended hikes or climbing a mountain.
