Fringer Contax AF Adapter for Fujifilm X-Mount

Fringer Zhao is sharing a new Contax AF adapter for Fujifilm X-Mount on Facebook that looks incredibly promising. The adapter is still in development by Fringer and could support Canon EF glass in the future, but for now the focus is Contax glass, which is generally held in high regard. The Fringer Contax AF adapter for Sony E-mount supports a wide variety of lenses (found below), which could give us an idea of what to expect from the X-mount variant. Jonas Rask’s December Lecture on Street Shooting

Jonas Rask doesn’t consider himself a professional photographer, but his lecture is as good as any “professional” lecture I have seen on street shooting. Like many he started with the X100, because he wanted a quality camera that he could take anywhere with him. At this time Jonas prefers the rangefinder style shooting of the X-Pro2, but he has an interesting theory about why the X-T2 and X-Pro2 were released around the same time and with the same specs. He also had an opportunity to use the GFX and says that its smaller than a D800 and weighs less than a D810, which are things we have heard before.

Fujifilm Fujinon 23mm F2 vs F1.4

Many have already decided if the Fujinon XF23 F2 R WR or Fujinon XF23 F1.4 R is right for them, but most reviews picked the Fujinon XF23 F2 R WR over the Fujinon XF23 F1.4 R. I personally picked the F2 over the F1.4 because I prefer weather resisted lenses living in FL, but I hope that someday soon lenses like the XF23/35 will be updated with WR editions because I prefer the way they capture images. Sebastian Castilho seems to agree with me and does a very good job articulating why you might prefer the F1.4 to F2 too.

Fujifilm Continues Doing Well in End of Year Roundups

The Fujifilm X-T2 is runner up to the Nikon D500 for camera of the year for Tony & Chelsea Northrup, while the Fujifilm GFX is their top unreleased camera.

Richard Butler the administrator at DPReview picked the Fujifilm X-T2 as his camera of the year over the Nikon D500 for the reason most Fujifilm fans already enjoy

“my product of the year is, without question, the Fujifilm X-T2. Not because it’s unquestionably better (it isn’t), but because it’s the camera the most made me want to get out and shoot, this year.”

Popular photography also included the Fujifilm X-Pro2, Instax SP-2 and Fujinon XF 100–400mm f/4.5–5.6 R LM OIS WR on their best gear of the year list.

TCSTV’s Best and Worst Camera Gear of 2016

Fujifilm comes in 3rd for best Camera of 2016 with the Fujifilm X-T2. CameraStoreTV calls the X-T2 one of the most well rounded cameras on the market right now and they love the implementation of the handgrip. The 2nd spot goes to the Pentax K-1 and 1st the Nikon D500, while the Canon EOS 80D gets an honrable mention.
