Chris and Jordan took the Fujifilm X-H1 to the Zoo for their latest review and both seem to really like the camera for photos and video, but the X-H1 has some stiff competition. At its current price point, it has to compete with a lot of specialty cameras and cameras with a larger sensor. The X-H1 also has some quirks like the shutter button that not everyone enjoys, which Chris says Fujifilm can adjust it for you.
It sounds like they think the most stand out feature about the Fujifilm X-H1 right now is the internal Eterna profile that allows for rapid video turn around, but you can record in F-Log on the X-T2 and apply the Eterna LUT instead. The X-H1 will save a little weight over a comparable DSLR, but it’s still a big camera. I think the X-H platform is off to a great start, but the Fujifilm X-H2 might be the truly standout camera in the future like the Fujifilm X-T2 was when it was released. The Fujifilm X-H1 will certainly make creatives looking for a hybrid Fujifilm camera happy, but Fujifilm’s ergonomics and workflow remain the standout feature.
