Accurate Fujinon XF 200mm F2 R LM OIS WR Lens Comparison on Fujifilm X-H1

There is a poorly done photoshop of the Fujinon XF 200mm F2 R LM OIS WR floating around so I decided to do one the right way. Fujifilm’s diagram is perfectly square, because it’s computer rendered, while camerasize comparison uses an image that’s almost square. You can match them up almost to the pixel, so Camerasize did a great job, but there are a few pixels you just can’t cover. Simply trying to match the mount isn’t good enough for an accurate size comparison. FujiAddict has a history of accurate printables in advance of product launches going back to the Fujifilm GFX.

Also, this lens is most likely finalized at this point with how much we know about it and all the samples that have been produced so this is likely an accurate comparison to the Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS USM, statements otherwise are inaccurate unless Fujifilm decides to go back to the drawing board on a lens they plan to launch this year, which is unlikely.

Unfortunately, Lens comparison does not have the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2G ED VR II in their system for a quick comparison, but I could very easily create one. Instead, we have to settle for the Nikon AF Micro-NIKKOR 200mm f/4D IF-ED. This comparison very clearly shows a size advantage for mirrorless APS-C cameras like the Fujifilm X-H1 and it is surprising how close in size the Fujinon XF200F2 is to the Fujifilm XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR. Let’s hope that the Fujifilm X-H1 plus Fujinon XF 200mm maintain a slight weight advantage too even though Fujifilm is teasing that it will weigh over 2kg, maybe it will come in at 2.25-2.4kg instead of the 2.5kg of the huge Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS USM.
