Fujifilm Announces New Lineup of 4K Broadcast Lenses Ahead of NAB 2026
Fujifilm has just dropped three major press releases announcing four new 4K-compatible broadcast lenses designed for 2/3-inch sensor cameras. Ranging from highly mobile portable zooms to a massive box lens, these new additions are designed to meet the growing demands of professional sports broadcasting, live music, studio recording, and news gathering. All of the newly announced lenses will be showcased at the upcoming NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas (April 19-22).

1. FUJINON UA22x4.8BERD
The FUJINON UA22x4.8BERD is a highly versatile, compact, and lightweight 4K portable zoom lens that hits the market in late March 2026 for an open price. It serves as the successor to the highly regarded UA18x5.5 lens, expanding both the wide-angle and zoom capabilities without drastically increasing size.
Key Features:
- Focal Length: 4.8mm to 106mm (22x High-Magnification Zoom).
- Compact & Lightweight: Measures approximately 251mm in length and weighs just 2.17kg, making it perfectly optimized for long hours of shoulder-mounted “ENG style” shooting.
- Optical Excellence: Utilizes Fujifilm’s proprietary HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) for superior light transmittance, vivid color reproduction, and reduced ghosting/flare. It provides excellent HDR compatibility.
- Enhanced Wide-Angle: At a subject distance of 10 meters, the 4.8mm wide end captures an area roughly 3 meters wider than its predecessor, making it ideal for tight indoor spaces or sweeping stadium shots.
- Close-Up Capabilities: Features a minimum object distance (MOD) of just 0.4m across the entire zoom range.
- Virtual Studio Ready: Comes standard with a 16-bit encoder capable of outputting high-resolution zoom and focus positional data, allowing for seamless integration with CG and virtual studio systems.
2. FUJINON UA30x7.3BERD & FUJINON UA16x4BERD
Fujifilm has announced the development of two new class-leading 4K portable zoom lenses slated for release in the Spring of 2027. Designed for ENG-style shoulder-mounted 4K cameras, these lenses push the boundaries of what portable lenses can achieve.
Key Features:
- FUJINON UA30x7.3BERD: Boasts a focal length of 7.3mm to 219mm. It achieves the highest zoom ratio in its class at 30x, allowing shooters to punch in on dramatic close-ups from the back of a stadium or concert venue.
- FUJINON UA16x4BERD: Features a focal length of 4mm to 64mm. It achieves both the widest angle in its class (4mm) and the highest zoom ratio in its class (16x).
- Compact Optimization: Through meticulous optimization of optical, mechanical, and control designs, Fujifilm managed to pack these record-breaking focal lengths and zoom ratios into compact, lightweight bodies that don’t compromise mobility.

3. FUJINON UA94x8.7BESM
Rounding out the announcements is the development of the FUJINON UA94x8.7BESM, a 4K-compatible box-type broadcast zoom lens scheduled for release sometime in 2026.
