Adding two new lenses will make the lineup a total of 20 lenses, expanding the field of photography in superior image quality by large-format sensor

TOKYO, September 12, 2023 — FUJIFILM Corporation (President & CEO, Representative Director: Teiichi Goto) has unveiled the latest development roadmap for interchangeable GF lenses designed for the GFX Series of mirrorless digital cameras, which incorporate the large-format sensor*, approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor. The latest roadmap has been added with two new lenses, a prime lens that extends the ultra-telephoto region and a power zoom lens suitable for shooting stills as well as videos. This brings the total number of GF lenses to 20 to further expand the field of photography in superior image quality, made possible by the large-format sensor.

New interchangeable lenses added to the roadmap

Ultra-telephoto prime lens

This is an ultra-telephoto prime lens with the focal length of 500mm (equivalent to 396mm in the 35mm film format). The introduction of this lens doubles GF lenses’ telephoto-region coverage from 250mm to 500mm. It can be fitted with a teleconverter to extend the reach further up to 700mm (equivalent to 554mm in the 35mm film format). This makes it possible to capture a distant subject, previously unreachable with the existing GF lens lineup, allowing users to use large format sensor’s world of high-resolution and high-quality imagery to photograph birds and other wildlife as well as airplanes.

Power zoom lens

This is a motorized zoom lens that covers the standard range of focal lengths, suitable for shooting stills as well as videos. It is fully motorized even for operating iris, focus and zoom to achieve precise and smooth movements, thus delivering descriptive and expressive performance that meet professional needs.

Fujifilm will continue to enhance its lens lineup to boost the appeal of the GFX system while delivering the appeal of photography and the joy of shooting photography.

* An image sensor that measures 55mm diagonally (43.8mm x 32.9mm) and is approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor
