Fujifilm Released Tutorials – Focus Modes, Fujinon XC vs XF, Fujinon MKX, Printing on Instax, and Custom Display Options
Fujifilm released some tutorial videos that I have summarized and posted below. They are all pretty brief and entry-level, but they could be good for people new to photography or Fujifilm cameras.
Focus Modes
AF-S
Single point AF mode
Green box in focus
Red box failed to focus and you might be too close
AF-C
Continuous AF mode
M
Manual focus
Focus Mode selector
Most cameras have the focus mode selected on the front
GFX cameras have the selector on the back
X100 has it on the front edge
X-A7 has it in the menus
Fujinon XC vs XF Lenses
Fujifilm XC and XF lenses are for X-Mount
XC affordable lenses without aperture rings
XF all have aperture rings
The 35mm f/2 XF and XC are the same exact lenses optically
XF lenses use metal
XC lenses are plastic including the mount
XF lenses use better AF motors
XC lenses are a little slower to focus
Some XF lenses are weather-resistant, but XC is not
Fujinon MKX Lenses
MKX
18-55mm f/2.9
50-155mm f/2.9
Both are the same size and weight
Longer than XF lenses with a similar aperture
These lenses are for series movie making
Focus is always done manually when shooting video because you want to make sure you’re perfectly sharp
MKX lenses have 200 degrees of rotation to go from minimum focus to infinity that moves smooth and silently which lets you be precise about where you set your focus
MKX lenses are also parfocal so they maintain their point of focus while zooming, which camera lenses won’t do, but it keeps them smaller and lower-priced
MKX lenses have gears to help you focus them
Printing on Instax Directly From Camera
Menu button – Wrench – Connection settings – Instax – Enter your Instax Serial Number – Default Password 1111
Find a photo in playback – Press Menu – Scroll Down to the Third Page – Instax Printer Prints
Select print area and hit ok
Custom Display Options
GFX and X cameras can be customized
EVF and rear display can be modified
You can have a really detailed display or a minimalist one
Display back scrolls through your options for your EVF/LCD and one of the modes is clean
Menu – Wrench – Screen Setup – Display Custom Settings
Whatever has a checkmark will be on the screen
The frame outline is good to tell you where the edge of the frame is when it is dark and it is the last option
