More Fujifilm X-H1 abuse, this time in the rain with a Godox XPro andV860II shooting bikes for about an hour. When the Fujifilm X-T2 first came out many were reluctant to get Fujifilm cameras wet and owners were doing some pretty extreme things to prove the durability of their X-T2. Of course, some photographers had problems, the cameras are only weather resistant, but then when the GFX came out many of us didn’t flinch to use our camera in the rain and snow.
While I am not sure about all the sports photographer talk to do with the X-H1 I wouldn’t personally worry about shooting a game for an hour or two with a Fuji X-H1. I have photographed sporting events with my X-T2 and Fujifilm cameras are fast enough to keep up with the action, but I always find myself wanting more buffer. Fujifilm’s lack of buffer depth can make shooting extended action frustrating and lead to missed shots.
With the Fujifilm X-H1, you always have the option to shoot video at a sporting event instead of photos, but the frame grabs of action won’t match stills with higher shutter speeds unless you’re shooting slow motion, but then you’re losing a lot of resolution. The first Fujifilm camera for sports will be the Fujifilm X-T3 when it is announced later this year at Photokina.
