Tamron BIG ZOOM Patents Found

A few days ago we shared a rumor of an upcoming big Tamron zoom lens and now we have some leaked patents that may be related.

Tamron 400-1000mm F10-11.5 and 250-700mm F6.5-13 Patents

[Name or company name] Tamron Co., Ltd.
  • [Background Art]
    [0002]
In recent years, imaging devices using solid-state imaging elements such as digital still cameras have become widespread. Accordingly, the focal length of optical systems has become longer, and so-called telephoto zoom lenses or imaging device systems including telephoto zoom lenses, which have a focal length of more than 80 mm in 35 mm equivalent, have rapidly become widespread. Lenses that are small and lightweight while maintaining high resolution by having a diffractive optical element (hereinafter also referred to as “DOE”) in the zoom range of the zoom lens have been considered.

However, in the zoom lens described in Patent Document 1, the weight of the first lens group is large, and weight reduction is required. In addition, the zoom lens described in Patent Document 1 has a problem that the balance with the weight on the image side is poor, and image shaking such as hand shake is likely to occur when shooting on the telephoto side. In addition, in the zoom lens described in Patent Document 2, although the DOE is arranged on the image side in the first lens group, the first lens group is very thin, and the diffractive surface of the DOE is located at a position close to the lens surface of the first lens group closest to the object side with respect to the total optical length. In the zoom lens described in Patent Document 3, the diffractive surface of the DOE is arranged on the object side in the first lens group. Therefore, the zoom lens described in Patent Document 2 and the optical system described in Patent Document 3 have a problem that measures against stray light flare are insufficient.
  • An object
of one aspect of the present invention is to provide a zoom lens and an imaging apparatus that are small, lightweight, and have high optical performance with reduced stray light flare.
