Warning: Fujifilm X-E5 Digital Camera (Free Repair of the Strap Attachment Fujifilm Japan)

Fujifilm X-E5: B&H Photo / Amazon (Black : Silver) / Moment / Adorama

Fujinon XF23mm f/2.8 R WR: B&H Photo / Amazon / Moment / Adorama

It seems every few years a camera company produces cameras with lug straps that need something like additional lock-tight. The last camera I remember this happening with was the Leica M240, which would just break loose, causing a camera drop, so be mindful. Hopefully, this X-E5 recall isn’t as bad. This notice is just for Japan at this time and it is believed to impact less than 0.1% of cameras produced, but you should be mindful in case the recall is expanded.

I went through the Leica M240 recall myself, and it was relatively painless. Fujifilm is even better about turning around cameras and should be able to handle recalled cameras quickly.
