- Tamron is a small company and that is an advantage when creating unique lens designs
- Camera sales were 101% of what they were the year before and 104% of the value so Tamron believes there is a positive outlook
- Lens sales were 99% of last year and 107% increase in value so Tamron thinks we have hit the bottom of the market
- Tamron’s lineup has been doing well thanks to Sony-E mount and expanding into Fujifilm X mount and Nikon Z mount
- Tamron has released 5 products a year without delay and every new model has sold well
- The market is going to be driven by hybrid camera photographers of higher than average photography and videography skills

- Tamron believes it has neglected entry-level users and it hopes to better address that market with good cost in relationship to performance
- Nonstandard focal length zoom lenses have performed well for Tamron because they offer trade-offs that are different from mainstream designs like being lighter and more compact
- More than half of Tamron’s mirrorless lenses are unique designs
- Tamron being small enhances communication within the company
- The first generation of the 28-75mm f/2.8 was a stand-out lens for Tamron that was controversial at first but people ended up liking it
- Misawa is excited about technology in photography like AI autofocus and global shutter
- Tamron is using AI to improve vibration compensation when shooting video which users are likely unaware of
- Tamron understands why photographers might not want software to correct an imperfect image, but it is done to achieve a specific product vision
- Tamron focuses on compact lightweight designs, but they would make more optically perfect glass if they targeted users that prefer optical performance over all else
- It is possible to achieve very high optical quality at a reasonable price when using technology, but there is also a human element
- It is also important to not rely too much on technology otherwise in house knowledge that has been accumulated over the years could be forgotten
