Fujifilm Photographers Have Highest Average Megapixel Cameras

BCN released interesting data that shows that average megapixel counts are declining below 24MP due to strong sales of cameras like the 12MP Sony a7SIII. Fujifilm has remained above the 24MP mark since they do not have cameras below 24MP at this time with most being 26.1MP or even 51.4MP or 102MP. It seems from the data that over the past year Fujifilm’s average MP count was only topped for a single month by Nikon thanks to strong Nikon Z9 sales, but their averages fell below Fujifilm’s during the following months.

Megapixels aren’t everything, but every time I use my GFX100 I am happy that I splurged for the 102MP monster. Similarly, I let several of my photographer friends use my GFX100 for their projects and they always say the same thing “The GFX100 is second to none and I wish I could afford one.” I really can’t wait to see what the next GFX brings because it is hard for me to imagine a better camera at this time.
