DPRTV: Fujifilm X-S10 vs Sony a6400
DPRTV released a new video comparing the Fujifilm X-S10 to the Sony a6400. Below is a summary of their findings.
Handling – Fujifilm X-S10 (Win)
- a6400 gets a bad rap, but you can get used to the bad menus, grip, poorly positioned buttons/dials
- X-S10 is compact and has a fantastic grip with well laid out buttons and lots of great features
Displays – Tie
- X-S10 Over a million pixels on the rear screen and it fully articulates
- a6400 has a vertical tilting rear screen that many prefer and the EVF has the same resolution as the X-S10, but refreshes faster
Autofocus – Sony a6400 (Win)
- Fujifilm has come a long way with its AF technology and keeps up with Sony in many areas but it is trying to be more Sony like
- a6400 Real-time Autofocus tracking is the best by a mile and everyone wants their AF to be like Sony
Image Quality – Fujifilm X-S10 (Win)
- a6400 has wonderful image quality
- X-S10 has better image quality though with or without film simulations plus there isn’t much rolling shutter
Video Quality – Fujifilm X-S10 (Win)
- The Fujifilm X-S10 can do 1080 240p and it has a mic/headphone jack with IBIS it’s miles ahead
- a6400 has a bunch of hot air and if you want video a6600 is where you need to look from Sony
Battery Life – Sony a6400 (Win)
- a6400 410 shot CIPA rated
- X-S10 325 shot CIPA rated but you can use a USB-C cable to recharge or run the camera
Lens lineup – Tie
- Fujifilm has a complete system, but no third party support
- Sony has a complete system with third party support
Conclusion
- Fujifilm X-S10 is a fantastic camera, but it is 2 years newer and Sony’s next camera could be very good
