A few hrs ago I received notice that Fujifilm has a monochrome camera coming from a DPR Forum post and I am trying to verify it, but haven’t had luck yet. I have heard of Fujifilm toying with the idea and I have joked around with people at Fujifilm and Leica that it won’t be long until Fujifilm puts out a monochrome camera to compete with the Leica M Monochrome, which is the only Leica I still love at this time.
I really hope this rumor is true and I wouldn’t be surprised since Fujifilm made a big deal about introducing ACROS and later monochrome Instax film. If they do release a monochrome camera it will likely be in the X-Pro body or even X100 body, but Fujifilm could do something else unique… They could call the camera the Fujifilm X-Pro ACROS or Fujifilm X100 ACROS. Either could be pretty cool.
