SIGMA 100-400mm, A Good Choice For Fujifilm X-Mount

Fringer released a firmware update just for the Sigma 100-400mm that makes it as good as the Canon EF100-400L II. Firmware 1.83 is just for Sigma 100-400mm users and it will be incorporated into firmware 1.9 when it is released so no need to update if you aren’t interested in the Sigma.

The update improves Optical Stabilization in the lens and requires the USB dock from Sigma to work fully because you have to switch the lens to dynamic view mode.

“Remember to save your setting to C1 or C2 and turn the switch to corresponding position. At the same time you may set the focus distance limit for that custom setting to improve AF speed.”

But make sure not to update your Sigma 100-400mm beyond firmware version 1.8 at this time, because 2.0 might not work properly. This will give you 3-4 stops of stabilization if done successfully. PDAF accuracy should also be improved.
