Cinima5D interviewed Fujifilm’s general manager Toshihisa Lida at NAB about their new MK line up. Some would like to see the MK lenses come to other mount’s, but the design can only be reworked for cameras with a similar flange back distance. I suppose it could be possible to adapt these lenses to m43 at some point in the future. Their goal when designing the MK lenses was to make them as small, lightweight, and compact as possible.
Fujifilm’s push into the world of video is a big move because they don’t currently have a video camera division to canalize, which will allow them to produce more well-rounded cameras in the future. Fujifilm doesn’t limit their cameras across their camera line, which is why the Fujifilm GFX comes with audio jacks, etc… Fujifilm design their cameras to be ready for the future. Maybe we will see 4k or even 8k video come along with the 100mp BSI sensor we reported first a few months ago.
