This documentary deserves a lot of attention. Lauren and Rob Lim created an inspirational short film about the power and tangible nature of instant film photography. Over the period of a few day Lauren Lim stopped several strangers on the street with her Fujifilm Instax Wide 300 and Rob Lim documented the experience with his Fujifilm X-T2 camera rig.
They aren’t professional cinematographers, but the results are very impressive and the message is spot on. I would love to do a project like this with an Instax printer, but Fujifilm doesn’t have a wide printer available yet and I feel the regular Instax SP-2 print is a little small.

They even did making of videos. Included below if you’re interested.
The video above explains the Fujifilm X-T2 rig Rob Lim assembled to film the documentary. Some of his choices as a first time film maker are interesting and he is a little off on some details/specs, but it’s interesting to hear about their experience. His rig consists of:
SHAPE Composite DSLR Stabilizer: B&H Photo/Adorama
Tascam DR-70D 4-Channel: B&H Photo/Amazon/Adorama
Rode VMPR VideoMic Pro R: B&H Photo/Amazon/Adorama
Sennheiser ew 122-p G3: B&H Photo/Amazon/Adorama
Vello V-Rig 4.1″ Triple Shoe: B&H Photo/Amazon
Below you can see some of the editing and footage/preproduction details of the documentary including modeling releases. They did a good job documenting the ups and downs of their first documentary film and I hope they make more in the future.
Lauren Lin also made behind the scenes videos explaining her camera choice and expectations vs the reality of photographing for this documentary that can be found below.
