Mini Review

Now that more journalists are getting their hands on the Fujifilm GFX 50S we are getting a lot more sample photos and opinions about the cameras system that are less colored by Fujifilm’s marketing department. The latest comes from a Russian live journal blog run by Elena Petrova.

In a nutshell, you get a camera with excellent color reproduction, detail and low noise. In difficult conditions, the autofocus little “podtuplivaet”, but it is a reasonable price to pay for a large sensor. Automatic metering and white balance works fine, even intracameral jpeg not want to somehow further edit. In my opinion, GFX has all the chances to make a revolution in the camera market and to become the founder of a new era in which photographers there are more and more chances to get everything at once.

Hasselblad X1D-50c vs Canon 5DS R

While looking for GFX news I also came across an interesting comparison that gives us an idea of how the GFX will compare to the Canon 5DS R. Fotopolis compared the Hasselblad X1D-50c against the Canon 5DS R and came to the conclusion that

As we can see, in terms of the same detail of the image supplied by the matrix Canon does not differ too much from what the offer has Hasselblad, although in the case of the matrix medium format, with full zooming pieces are however sharper. The greater the difference we see only above ISO 800. However, if someone is working only at the lowest sensitivities and it depends only on the resolution, Canon will be an alternative completely sufficient. Not to mention a much greater choice of lenses.
