The StudioPRO All-In-One LED Product Photo Light Kit 24″ Cube

L1030151

A few days ago, I shared an interesting DIY method of doing product photography which utilized your bathtub, that I came across while doing research. Today I wish to share with you the product I decided to purchase to improve my product shots on the site.

The StudioPRO all-in-one LED product photo light kit 24″ cube is a small investment that can improve the quality of your product photography. It includes 4 back drops and uses a single large LED along with reflective surfaces to ensure full/even lighting of anything that fits in the box. It does not take long to setup, and when you are done, the entire setup can be folded flat and stored in a small place. Read More »

Special Limited Edition X-Pro 2 Announcement

April 1

When Fujifilm released the X-Pro 2 they teased an image of a camera that looked like it was dragged behind a car for miles. There was a lot of speculation about the image when the brochure hit, but now it seems that Fujifilm will be copying Leica in yet another way, by releasing a special edition meant to one up the Leica MP Correspondent edition by Lenny Kravitz in every way. Each camera will be lovingly dragged to work by select Fujifilm employees during their daily commute to work. The body will be dragged at least 24 miles and, if the wear isn’t pleasing, the camera will be thrown away. This level of extreme abuse will demonstrate Fujifilm’s superior ruggedness and create the ultimate one-of-a-kind collector’s item.

In addition, each camera will come with a handwritten story about how the camera was abused to create its unique look. Some will be dragged behind cars, while others might be dragged behind bikes or even trains. Fujifilm has even hinted that vertical drop distances could be included in the 24 mile travel distances for executives that might commute to work via helicopter. I can’t wait to see the variety of results this unique process creates, but this level of detail will come with a price tag to match. Our sources say the Fujifilm LOOF Edition will cost $412,016 and be available next year around this time.

Lens Packs

L1030143
Lens Packs  sent me some review samples, of their X-mount quick change caps to use while I am working on my X-Pro 2 review. So far I am impressed with their build quality and the representative has been helpful answering my questions, but now that I am starting to use them daily I want to know if readers have any questions about these that I can answer.

Record-high nine Fujifilm imaging products win the Red Dot Design Award the premium mirrorless camera “FUJIFILM X-Pro2” and instant camera “instax mini 90”

March 30, 2016

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) is proud to announce that a record-high nine of its products, including the premium “FUJIFILM X-Pro2” mirrorless camera and the “Instax Mini 90” instant film camera, have won the Red Dot Design Award 2016, a product design award program organized by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen based in Essen, Germany.

The Red Dot Design Award is an international product design award launched in 1955. It examines products released within the past two years, and they are judged in nine criteria including degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecological compatiblity and durability. It is among the world’s most prestigious design award, along with the “iF design award” in Germany and the “International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA)” in the United States of America.

Encouraged by the selection of numerous Fujifilm products for the Red Dot Design Award out of a large number of entries from across the world, the company will continue to strive for developing excellent products.
