Updated Fujifilm July Lens Roadmap Revealed: Updated

July 2016 Road Map

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) has released an updated roadmap of interchangeable lenses for the X series of mirrorless cameras.
The latest roadmap adds three new lenses: the compact, lightweight and stylish semi-wide angle lens “XF23mmF2 R WR”, the compact mid-telephoto lens “XF50mmF2 R WR” and the mid-telephoto 1:1 macro lens “XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro”. The expanded 25-lens lineup covers extensive angles of view from ultra wide angle to ultra telephoto, and will now also cover the macro category to further enhance photographic versatility.

Three lenses newly added to the roadmap

Semi wide angle lens “XF23mmF2 R WR”
The semi wide angle lens “XF23mmF2 R WR” gives the field of view equivalent to 35mm (in the 35mm film format). The compact, lightweight and stylish lens features a high-speed autofocus capability, making it perfect for casual snapshots.

Mid telephoto lens “XF50mmF2 R WR”
The mid telephoto lens “XF50mmF2 R WR” has a field of view equivalent to 76mm (in the 35mm film format). Its beautiful bokeh and high-speed autofocus are ideally suited for portrait photography.

Similarly to the new “XF23mmF2 R WR” and existing “XF35mm F2R WR” lenses, this lens features a compact, lightweight and stylish appearance which creates a new “compact prime trio” range within the complete lineup of interchangeable lenses for “X Series” digital cameras.

Mid-telephoto macro lens “XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR”
This mid-telephoto macro lens with the field of view equivalent to 122mm (in the 35mm film format) is the X series’ first 1:1 macro interchangeable lens. It is weather and dust-resistant and can be mounted with a teleconverter as a telephoto macro lens which is equivalent to 171mm* (in the 35mm film format) with the 1.4x teleconverter and equivalent to 244mm** (in the 35mm film format) with the 2x teleconverter. The lens, covering macro photography from mid-telephoto to telephoto range, also features high-performance image stabilization.

* The lens’s maximum aperture is reduced to F4 when mounted with the 1.4x teleconverter.
** The lens’s maximum aperture is reduced to F5.6 when mounted with the 2x teleconverter.

Changes from the previous roadmap released on February 10, 2015

The “XF120mmF2.8 R Macro” lens, listed in the previous roadmap, has been replaced with the “XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR” to satisfy the user needs for compact and lightweight lenses. To cater to our customers who were expecting a telephoto macro lens, this new lens is compatible with the existing teleconverters to extend its reach into the telephoto range.
